Tutor with LearnWithOtti

LearnWithOtti was founded by Rob, a senior examiner, and we hold every tutor on the platform to the same standard we’d want for our own students. Here’s exactly what to expect if you apply.

How it works

1. Apply — tell us your qualifications and a bit about your teaching, and name a referee.
2. Reference check — once you’ve confirmed your email, we’ll contact your referee directly. They’re never shown your application.
3. Application review — we personally review every application.
4. Approval & profile setup — set your own rate, availability, subjects and bio.
5. Enhanced DBS check — required before you can be booked, since many students are under 18 (more below).
6. You’re live — accept the sessions you want, on your own schedule.

Pay

You set your own per-session rate. LearnWithOtti takes a flat 14% to cover costs like marketing, the digital classroom for tutoring and payment processing — that’s it, no separate fees on top. Paid to you, directly via Stripe.

DBS check

Because you will be working with students under 18, an Enhanced DBS check (covering the child workforce) is required before you can start — arranged after you’re approved, not as part of this application. It costs £69, and you’ll choose how to pay it once you get there: upfront, or spread across your first few lessons.

Delivering lessons

Sessions run through our own online classroom — video, a cobrowser which allows you to collaborate on live diagrams with your students in real time and many other tools, nothing extra to install.

Flexibility

You’re self-employed and in control: no minimum hours, no fixed schedule, and you choose which sessions to accept.
